About
Daily Calendar is a small website for the date you are on. It is a page you open, not an app you install. There is no account and nothing to sign up for.
The picture at the top follows a 1970s cross-stitch wall calendar. The four seasons sit in the corners. The other months ring the edge. The month you are in is the large medallion above the days. Nothing radiates around that medallion.
Each month and each season is its own picture file, so any one of them can be replaced later without moving the layout. March is the picture that fills a gap: on the original stitchery, March is the center medallion, and the other eleven months have fixed places in the ring. When the current month is not March, March's picture moves into the ring space that month left behind. All twelve months still show, once each.
Under the calendar are up to three short notes for today's month and day. The notes are original sentences, kept in a data file keyed by month and day. They are not passages copied from an encyclopedia. A day with fewer than three notes shows only the notes it has. A day with no note yet shows a plain line instead.
Past dates stay in the archive, each on its own page, so an earlier day can be opened and read.
A few links below the notes open Amazon searches for calendars and planners. A note may also link to a search when it is about a food, a hobby, or a book. Those are affiliate links. The affiliate disclosure says that we may earn a commission. The privacy page says that this site uses Google Analytics.
